Understanding the NSW Solar Battery Refunds

The NSW solar battery incentive scheme is a government-led effort to support the state’s transition to net-zero emissions by 2050. Homeowners and businesses can receive financial support for installing solar batteries and connecting them to the grid through a Virtual Power Plant (VPP).
Here’s how the new incentive works:
-
Eligible Participants Can Get An Incentive Ranging From $1,600 To $2,400, Depending On The Battery Size.
-
An Additional Incentive Of $250 To $400 Is Available For Connecting The Battery To A VPP, With The Possibility To Claim This Incentive Twice If There’s A Gap Of At Least Three Years Between Claims.
The incentive applies not only to new solar battery installations but also to properties that already have solar systems, provided the eligibility criteria are met.
